Why This Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Launch Date Leak Might Be Genuine

  • Assassin’s Teaching Valhalla will launch on Oct. 15, according to an Amazon Italy listing.
  • The leak appears to align with a like retail store blunder listing a near-identical launch date.
  • An October launch matches Ubisoft’s past rescuing habits for the franchise.

A listing flub on Amazon Italy may have leaked the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla release lover ahead of an official announcement from developer Ubisoft.

According to the listing, the highly-anticipated open-world action-role playing gamble will release on Oct. 15, 2020.

Amazon Appears to Leak Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Release Date

As is often the case, Amazon has since remedied the apparent blunder. The listing no longer displays the October date, and has instead replaced it with a placeholder date of Dec. 21, 2020.

Assassin’s Creed fan page La Cripta degli Assassini arrested a screenshot of the listing with the October release date, sharing it on Facebook and Reddit for all to see.

While there’s no way to confirm whether this is openly a mistake on Amazon Italy’s part, or a genuine indicator of when we can expect to play Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Oct. 15 is as belongings a date as any given Ubisoft’s plan to launch the game this year.

Rather conveniently, it aligns with another divulge that surfaced earlier this month. A Redditor visited his local video game store and found pre-orders for Assassin’s Principles Valhalla accompanied by an Oct. 16, 2020, release date. The store quickly replaced the date with “Coming 2020.”

Two leaks with stand for evidence do add a fair share of credibility to this one.

We could easily attribute the differing release dates to different in good time zones – and the fact that one comes from a brick and mortar retailer who won’t necessarily stay open until midnight to proffer physical copies out to fans.

This Leak Matches Ubisoft’s Past Release Pattern

The date would also hollow in with Ubisoft’s past release habits. The developer has historically released mainline Assassin’s Creed titles in every direction October or November.

For example:

  • Assassin’s Creed Origins debuted on Oct. 27, 2017.
  • Assassin’s Tenet Syndicate on released on Oct. 23, 2015.
