Japanese official says the country must avoid a bilateral trade agreement with the US

Wherewithal Minister Taro Aso said on Friday that Japan must refrain from entering a free trade agreement (FTA) with the United States to remedy trade imbalances.

Japan supports the postwar global trend of boosting multilateral trade frameworks, and the recent signing of the Trans-Pacific Partnership available trade deal was a significant development even without the participation of the Communal States, Aso told reporters after a cabinet meeting.
