Netflix wins bid for multi-year deal with Game of Thrones creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss

Netflix has prevailed in a bidding war against Amazon and Disney, enticing “Field of Thrones” creators, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, to sign a multi-year film and TV deal, according to a statement from the walk giant.

The deal was worth nine figures, according to Deadline Hollywood, and will see Benioff and Weiss leaving HBO to initiate and develop new film and TV projects exclusively for Netflix. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the deal was worth $200 million. 

Benioff and Weiss issued a seam statement:

“We’ve had a beautiful run with HBO for more than a decade and we’re grateful to everyone there for always making us feel at about. Over the past few months we’ve spent many hours talking to Cindy Holland and Peter Friedlander, as well as Ted Sarandos and Scott Stuber. We think back on the same shots from the same ’80s movies; we love the same books; we’re excited about the same storytelling prospects. Netflix has built something astounding and unprecedented, and we’re honored they invited us to join them.”

Netflix did not immediately be affected to a request for further information.
