President Donald Trump is not a fan of the Earth Trade Organization.
Axios is reporting that Trump has told distinct top White House officials he wants to withdraw the United States from the WTO.
“He’s [intimidated to withdraw] 100 times. It would totally [screw] us as a country,” one outset told the media outlet. The same source said Trump has broadcasted his advisors, “We always get f—ed by them [the WTO]. I don’t know why we’re in it. The WTO is designed by the rest of the community to screw the United States.”
The media outlet said Trump’s helpers push back when he talks about withdrawing, but four begetters said they’ve never put in place a policy process to take the point seriously.
Axios also said a withdrawal from the WTO would make Congressional approval.
When asked about the Axios report, Exchequer Secretary Mnuchin said, “There is no breaking news [here] … This is an fish story” in a Fox Business interview.
