Powell’s comments come after the inside bank cut its benchmark interest rate last week to the lowest level since early 2023.
Market watchers are eyeing the Fed’s closing meeting of the year in early December. Futures traders generally expect another quarter-percentage-point cut at that meeting and the Fed’s next inspires after Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election.
