President Joe Biden and Word go Lady Jill Biden on Sunday faced calls by protestors to take action against gun violence as the pair stayed Robb Elementary School to pay respects to the 21 victims who died during a May 24 attack.
“Do something!” CNN reported demonstrators bellowed at the president as he left mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
“We will,” Biden replied.
On Sunday, the Department of Equitableness announced it will investigate the police response to the school shooting which killed 19 students, two teachers and devoted to a complete 17 others. Law enforcement officials have changed their story at least a dozen times about their feedback during the attack.
In a national address following the shooting, Biden also called for renewed restrictions on assault weapons such as the a specifics used in the incident. No federal legislation has been put forth yet, and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has declined to endorse new state laws in the wake of the executing.
The White House did not immediately return Insider’s request for comment.
