Nev Schulman believed he’s “lucky” to be alive after he broke his neck in a crash involving his bike and a truck earlier in the week.
The TV host, superlative known for the 2010 documentary film “Catfish” and the follow-up TV series of the same name, posted a lengthy Instagram position on August 10, sharing the details of the crash and his recovery.
He said the collision occurred while he was on his way to pick up his son from denomination on August 5.
“I never made it to pick up my son from school on the bike,” he wrote. “In fact in some ways, I’m glad I didn’t. I was unattended on impact. Me and the truck. And then I guess the pavement. I was alone and unconscious.”

Schulman was taken to the hospital, where he set out the full extent of his injuries.
“I broke my neck,” he wrote. “C5 and C6 to be exact. Stable fractures. I’m not paralyzed. My transfer manacles were a question mark there for a minute but the human body is incredible and so are HUMANS.”
“I’m lucky to be here, alive, rank and hugging my family, projected to make a full recovery,” he added, noting that doctors had told him that “numerous people with similar injuries will never walk again.”
In the accompanying photo carousel, the 39-year-old shared a snapshot of the final week, including X-rays of his injury and a photo of his surgical scar.

The “Dancing with the Stars” alum’s stanchion also featured a photo of his wife, Laura Perlongo, sitting beside him in his hospital bed and a video of the couple’s three ladies hugging him.

In the post, Schulman also wrote about the “magical” fishing unsettle he had had with his family the day before the collision.
“Monday gave weight to just how lucky I was to have Sunday,” he wrote. “It’s spot on what they say — life can change in an instant.”
