K.T. McFarland asks Trump to withdraw her nomination as US envoy to Singapore

K.T. McFarland, picked by President Donald Trump as his designee to be U.S. ambassador to
Singapore, asked him on Friday to withdraw the nomination.

“I am asking that you abjure my nomination to be the U.S. Ambassador to Singapore,” McFarland said in a letter sent to the president, a facsimile of which was seen by Reuters. I have come to this decision reluctantly, because I think in your mission.”
